Toddler Talk Thursday: Ways your Toddler Helps Out!

Welcome to Week 30 of Toddler Talk Thursday! Where Family and Life in Las Vegas, Crazy about my Baybah, and My Life as a Sippy Cup Mom talk all things TODDLER!!

Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products. It is a great way to meet other bloggers of toddlers. Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!

NEW TO Toddler Talk Thursday- WE ARE CHANGING HOW WE PICK THE FEATURED BLOG.

Each week the hosts will travel around to each blog to see what topic your suggest for the following week. If we choose your topic – you will be our featured blog. (Hey we need some fresh ideas!! And picking from your cuties is just too hard!)

This week’s topic is :

How does your toddler try to be a big helper?

SAP has always loved “helping out” with mommy and daddy things.  From when she could first stand up she was right there at the dryer with me, unloading the clothes into the laundry basket.  Of course they were wet clothes I wanted in the dryer but that’s besides the point!  As she’s become a toddler her “Help” has become quite amusing!  She still loves the laundry, no matter how old she gets it seems!

SAPsDaDa said: “I washed her but the smile just wouldn’t go away!”

SAP’s number one favorite thing to do every single morning is help mommy get ready to go out the door to work/school/daycare.  While SAPsDaDa is busy getting his boots and coat on SAP brings me my boots, then my coat, then  my hat, and sometimes my scarf!  If I don’t stop what I”m doing RIGHT NOW and put the boots etc. on I get some incessant whining!  The first time she started doing this I was quite stunned and now it’s become a morning routine!  Of course once I’m ready then it’s time to get SAP ready and in her coat and shoes!

SAP loves to help clean!  This is SAP’s way of helping clean /wash the coffee table in the living room….

Sweet and innocent….

Look Mama I’m cleaning!

Ah oh it’s started….
And yep, it’s clean now!  lol

For fun, SAP’s favorite way of helping out cleaning is to pick up and throw away garbage!  She enjoys finding it on the floor, balling it up in her hands whether it’s able to be “balled” or not, then going to the kitchen garbage can and throwing it out.  If the gate is up to the kitchen she will come find one of us to pull us to the gate and make us take it down so she could throw away her garbage.  I can only imagine the OCD this girl will have when s he’s older keeping her room clean…I can only hope!  lol.

During the holidays (and those times that I need to pack up outgrown clothes every few months!), SAP just loves to help pack things in containers!  This also comes up whenever we leave town, she loves to help unpack our bags while we pack and loves to pack the bags we unpack when we get back…maybe one day she’ll get it straight!

SAP helping mama pack the Halloween decos…and yes she is eating while she is playing inside of the bin silly girl!

Of course no little girl is complete without helping out her Daddy build or fix something.  Recently SAPsDaDa put together SAP’s new bed! No matter mommy’s distraction techniques SAP just HAD to be there to help her daddy out!  She did everything form hanging onto his back to crawling all over the incomplete bed frame right in SAPsDaDa’s way!  I feel it helped her process the change from crib to bed so I let it be and just took cute pictures!

“Daddy, I Wanna Help!”
“Daddy, I SAID I wanna help!!”
At this point we let her hand him the screws so she could “help” lol

Is there any way your little one helps you out and likes to be a “big helper”?  I’d love to hear it!

Suggestions for future topics: What items make up your toddler’s toybox (what items that are not toys that they have claimed their own make up their toybox)?  Such as pieces of ribbion, old remotes, dvd cases, etc.

Or, in what ways does your toddler imaginatively use their toys in ways they were not initially intended for?

Next week’s topic is: Show off your Little Leprechauns! It’s St. Patrick’s Day!
