Kiki Fashions Maternity Dress Review and Giveaway!

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

In just 5 short days I will be a college graduate!  I had not planned to have SAP in the middle of my 4-year (5-year!) college years, but that’s the way it ended up!  Ever since she was born SAPsDaDa and I have wanted to see our little family grow, but decided to wait until we were more prepared.  Now that we will both be college graduates and (hopefully!) working and starting our lives together, we’re definitely thinking it won’t be too long before we plan to have another little one!

So I’m starting to look for some cute maternity wear, and came across Kiki Fashions!  When I was pregnant with SAP I was a poor college student and so I did not “get into” getting the whole maternity wardrobe or anything.  That will change this next time around!  I am no longer a poor college student….I am now a poor college graduate for one!  But now I know where I can get comfy and cute cheap maternity clothes!  I was very happy about this, and it was a hard choice to pick what to review from their store!  In the end I picked a nice Navy Blue Strapless Maxi Maternity Dress.

KiKi Fashions Maternity Dress Review

The blue strapless maxi maternity dress that I picked out!

When I am looking for maternity clothes I am looking for a few specific things.  I want something that will be comfortable, something that will show off my new “curves” (belly!), and something that will fit me from the beginning of my pregnancy to the end, and even after giving birth while I still have that “baby weight” that doesn’t seem to go away for a year!  Many of the maternity dresses and maternity tops from Kiki Fashions seemed to fit the bill, so I kind of took a while to pick what to try out….if I was pregnant right now I probably would have been tempted to go on a mini shopping spree!  Such cute stuff! I picked the Strapless Maxi Maternity Dress out of all of those because it looked like it fit all of my criteria, plus a few lesser important things I was looking for.

Relaxing all comfy in the Strapless maxi maternity dress!

What was I looking for?  Well, when I was pregnant with SAP, I wasn’t a very big pregnant lady!  Don’t be jealous, I bet next time I’ll be huge!  But just in case, I wanted a maternity dress that I would be able to wear all the way through my pregnancy no matter how small I got and not look ridiculous on me!  The way some of the maternity shirts I have seen look they are fitted for the biggest bellies, and that just doesn’t work with my small body frame … being all short and small chested I am!  So I was also looking for something that would work with my small chest until  my milk would come in in the last trimester. As you can see, the stretchy chest area fit great!  Now stop looking at my chest! lol

The Strapless Maxi dress was perfect!  The chest area was stretchy and perfect for a changing chest size during pregnancy and beyond, and the dress had enough room for a bigger belly  if I got really big next time, but still looked great for a smaller belly!  It would work perfect in covering my “baby weight” after giving birth too, so would be the perfect dress to wear coming home from the hospital for that first day when you try to look your best but still feel like “uck”!

Here is the full legnth of the dress, you can see how it has plenty of room to cover a growing tummy, and is light and flowing around the body so you feel all pretty and everything!

And yes I had some attitude with the camera man when this photo was taken, my fiance was being a smarty-pants!

It is a simple dress, but it accents a pregnant woman’s curves very well, and flatters them!  It made me feel just girly enough, and I’m not a very girly girl!  The fabric was soft and flowing and I could imagine wearing this dress many times pregnant with SAP’s new brother or sister in the near future.

What SAPsMaMa Loved:

  • Great designs that work well for many body shapes during pregnancy
  • Very comfortable to wear
  • Would fit me before, during, and after pregnancy well!
  • Soft fabric that stretches where it needs to stretch, such as with your changing chest size!
  • Makes you look like a hot mama!
  • Cheap price!

Suggestions for Improvement:

  • I’d love to see some night gowns!  For maternity, but also for use to wear in the hospital when new mothers go to give birth or to wear after giving birth…many times I have heard and experienced myself how much we hate those hospital gowns and a nice comfy loose gown would be great to have!
  • Maternity PJ’s too…last time I was pregnant I borrowed my hubby’s PJ’s since mine were too small, I’d rather not do that this time around!  I”d love to see what cute designs you come up with!
