Bon Ami Natural Cleaning Products Review and $35 Gift Certificate Giveaway! (Sponsored by EcoMom!)

A mother’s job is never done!  So whatever makes that job easier is a blessing for me!  One thing I will not do, however, is sacrifice safety and my morals to get my home nice and clean.  Any cleaning product I use in my home must be not only safe to use around myself and my daughter, but toxin-free and friendly to the environment!

When I heard EcoMom was starting to carry the Bon Ami brand I got excited!  Not only does Bon Ami offer a variety of products that can help clean in multiple types of situations, but they are also made entirely from natural and biodegradable simple ingredients that actually work!  And those are the two main things that capture me about Bon Ami: SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE!

I received for review the Bon Ami Dish Soap, All Purpose Cleaner, Liquid Cleanser, and Powder Cleanser.  These are pretty much all the cleaners I use regularly in our household for cleaning.  I love using the multipurpose cleaner for cleaning up after SAP during the day since it works on almost any surface quick and easy and will take care of most messes, which makes it a lot easier to keep up! A pleasant surprise was the faint sweet aroma of the tangerine thyme scent that came with cleaning!  Gives me that fresh clean smell without the chemically smell of many cleaners!

All the Bon Ami products I received to review.  They pretty much replaced all the products under my sink!

No matter  how easy cleaning is with the Bon Ami Multipurpose cleaner, however, some areas of the house always have a mess building up.  For these areas I have come to use the powder and liquid cleansers!  I have not found much use for the liquid cleaners, though I did use it for some greasy dishes I needed to scrub, but the Powder Cleanser has been wonderful.  Tubs, sinks, and other surfaces were all scrubbed clean!  SAPsDaDa especially loved this since he is used to powders for this type of job he did not have to change his technique for cleaning, just the product he used.  When switching from products we are used to to a new product we wish to use it’s great when there is this common cross over to make the change simpler!

Washing my dishes with my Bon Ami Dish Soap!

So far we have used the most of the Bon Ami Dish Soap!  At our new apartment we do have a dish washer, but I much prefer to do dishes by hand if possible and will not allow SAPsDaDa to wash plastic in the dish washer at all.  Therefore I always end up washing a bunch by hand anyway!  Other natural dish soaps I have used have not performed very well.  Often I would have to use a lot of soap for it to work, it would not suds up, or it just would plain not clean very well.  With the Bon Ami Dish Soap I had no such problems!  Not only did it suds up very well, it only took a single small squirt of soap to effectively clean all the dishes in my washing load!  Once again with the pleasant tangerine thyme scent, it makes a quick load of dishes by hand not as much of a chore as it could be!

What SAPsMaMa Loves about Bon Ami Natural Cleaners:

  • Effective cleaners, they get the job done well
  • Smell great with a hint of tangerine, but not an overpowering or chemical-like smell.  Love it is from natural essential oils.
  • Come in containers and forms that I am familiar using, such as scrubbing powders and spray on multipurpose cleaners.  Makes using natural cleaners easier to switch to.
  • All of the Bon Ami products are biodegradable and natural, good for the environment and not harmful to you and me!
  • Made in the USA!!
  • The containers are from 100% Post-Consumer PET Plastic!
  • SUPER affordable at $1.80 – $4 each!

Suggestions For Improvement:

  • Though these are wonderful kitchen and “around-the-house” cleaning products, I”d love some Bon Ami Bathroom specific products that have the same environmentally friendly and toxin-free attitude as the current products do!
  • I’d love a Bon Ami concentrate so I can reuse my Bon Ami bottles…can never be too environmentally friendly!

  10. Leah Walker says:

The Bon Ami All Purpose Tangerine and Thyme would be wonderful in my house. I have a hubby that works in the oilfield, a teen daughter (enough said), a guinea pig, and four fur babies. There isn’t an inch of my house that couldn’t benefit from anything they sell. Lol. My bathroom and kitchen counters have to be cleaned multiple times a day and my floor have to be swept the same amount and mopped at least, at least, once daily. It probably wouldn’t be that way for most people but I have OCD so things have to be just so. Lol. Also, I have to be very careful about what products I use. I used Pine Sol to mop one time and one of our little doggies broke out in welts all over his undercarriage. That was the only thing that could have caused it so I only use natural, pet safe products now.
